Inland Waterway Transport
The European Inland Waterway Transport Platform promotes the interests of Europe’s inland navigation sector and its enterprises. Established in Belgium and based in Brussels, it was founded by the European Barge Union and the European Skippers’ Organisation, whose representativeness is officially recognised by the European Commission. Through its committees, experts and staff, the Platform provides technical advice in European and international fora and works with a wide range of stakeholders to improve operating conditions for the European inland waterway fleet. In doing so, it enhances the attractiveness of this transport mode, contributing to the EU’s economic competitiveness, environmental sustainability and systemic resilience.

Danube Commission
The Danube Commission (DC) is an international intergovernmental organization established by the Convention regarding the regime of navigation on the Danube on 18 August 1948. Together with other DiVINE partners, the DC will perform research, analysis, surveying and reporting activities. Among others, the DC is responsible for the “Smart Administration” component of the Digitalization Vision, focusing on the reduction of administrative burden, the development of smart vessels, infrastructure, and data. This component represents a key pillar in achieving a fully fledged smart shipping concept by 2035, enabling data exchange among all inland waterway transport stakeholders.
EICB
Expertise and Innovation Centre Barging (EICB) is an independent organisation based in the Netherlands, supporting innovation and sustainability in inland waterway transport. It works with public and private stakeholders through research, policy development, and project implementation. EICB actively contributes to national and European initiatives, promoting digitalisation, green solutions, and collaboration to advance a smarter and more sustainable inland navigation sector.
viadonau
viadonau is the Austrian waterway manager, carrying out water construction projects, ecological river management, operating locks, or providing infrastructure data on the Austrian Danube. It supports Danube freight and intermodal transport and shapes Europe-wide digital services that give access to waterway and navigation information (EuRIS) and reduce reporting burdens (CEERIS ).
